Free Gun Locks to Montclair Residents

The National Shooting Sports foundation, supported by a US Department of Justice grant, has developed Project Childsafe, a nationwide program to promote firearms responsibility in the home. As a part of the program, they have distributed a large quantity of gun locks to law enforcement agencies across the nation to distribute to the public without charge.

In conjunction with the National Shooting Sports Foundation and the US Department of Justice, the Montclair Police Department is making these gun locks available to Montclair residents free of charge. Montclair residents with proof of residency (driver's license, ID card, utility bill, etc.) can pick up the gun locks Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the front counter of the Police Department.

Questions about this program can be directed to the Police Department business office at (909) 448-3600.
